- I enjoy every form of the creative process, from painting to sculpture and everything in between. I work primarily with PrismaColor pencils. My specialty is portraiture. I really enjoy working with my hands to create.
I pride myself as a person with outstanding people and communication skills. Over the years, I have developed a technique that suits my need to accurately express myself.
I strive to evoke different emotions or make social statements through my titled work, however, I do not discourage people from formulating their own conclusions whenever viewing my work. Everyone walks away with something as different as the individuals they are.
The colors, my pallet play a large part in the emotions I try to convey with each piece. Aesthetics are a major consideration in my creations, always keeping in mind an attraction to the eye. I hope the observer will build a relationship with the work, and carry it with them long after the viewing. I am a stickler for detail and am very confident that my art depictions are extremely accurate as well as thought provoking. My formal training has truly helped refine my skills. I invite close scrutiny by encouraging the observer to conclude how the work was created. Consequently, there are two images projected; up close and from a distance.
Because my abilities are a God-given gift, I feel that am but an instrument, doing as I was created to do. “It” cannot be turned off. “It” is ongoing. I am constantly looking for different ways to depict the human form. My observations are subtle, constant and intense. I live it daily. This is my best explanation of this process that lives within me.
I portray in my artwork the things everyone can relate to in everyday situations in life. Visuals that are often overlooked or taken for granted, I try to make unique and beautiful.
The emotions of love, desire, despair, loneliness and elation along with the tactile sensations of texture, color and light. I create images of daily life.
If I can build a rapport between the observer and my creations, then I feel I have been successful in my endeavors.
